The name Gateways is synonymous with outstanding classes.

Gateways world renowned speakers, such as Rabbi Mordechai Becher, Rabbi & Mrs. Dovid Greenblatt, Rabbi Jonathan Rietti, Rabbi Yonason Shippel & Founder & Director Rabbi Mordechai Suchard are joined by Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz & Rabbi Avraham Friedman to provide our guests with presentations and shiurim that are second to none.

This Pesach will introduce brand new and exciting classes and courses that have never been presented at Gateways. Participants will have an opportunity to complete courses by our world renowned experts in fields such as Spirituality & Mysticism, Kabbalah, and Da Mah Shetashiv (Know What to Answer), will walk away feeling accomplished and having tools for life.

Kol Torah-What an amazing sight to see over Pesach. At Gateways, our fully stocked Beis HaMedrash is packed day and night. Fathers and sons, brother and brother and new found chavrusahs learning together. Not bringing a chavrusah with you? No need to worry, we will match you up. This year we are launching chaburahs with some of the brightest up an coming. Really a geshmak!

Rabbi Avraham Friedman

Rabbi Avraham Friedman

Rabbi Friedman is the Rosh HaYeshiva of Beis Hamedrash L’Torah (the Skokie Yeshiva). He has also served as the Mashgiach Ruchani of the yeshiva and has taught a popular blatt shiur for 30 years. Previously, Rabbi Friedman taught in Israel in Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh and he also taught in Los Angeles in Yeshiva University of L.A. He received his semicha from Harav Betzalel Zolti, the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem and from Harav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg who served on the Beis Din Hagodol of Israel. He has written many Torah journals on a number of mesectos.

 

 

Rabbi Mordechai Kalatsky

Rabbi Mordechai Kalatsky

Rabbi Mordechai Kalatsky is the Rabbi of Congregation Kenesseth Israel and Director of Corporate Learning for the Minneapolis Community Kollel. Since his arrival in Minneapolis three years ago, Rabbi Kalatsky has impacted hundreds of men, women, and teens of all backgrounds in seeing the relevance and beauty of Judaism in their everyday life.

Rabbi David Ordman

Rabbi David Ordman

A native of England, Rabbi Ordman acquired his higher Jewish education at the Talmudic Colleges of Gateshead and Manchester.  Rabbi Ordman was a senior lecturer for Arachim and is known internationally as a dynamic Judaic studies teacher from Hong Kong in the East to Los Angeles in the West.

 

 

Rabbi Akiva Tatz

Rabbi Akiva Tatz

Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz Senior Lecturer at the JLE was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.  After practicing as a doctor in both South Africa and the U.S., he moved to Israel where he practiced both in hospital and general medicine in Jerusalem.  He has become a recognized expert in matters of Jewish thought and Hashkofa as well as medical ethics.  He gives Shiurim to groups and Organizations across the world on a wide variety of topics.

He is the Founder and Director of the Jerusalem Medical Ethics Forum and has written a number of books on the subject of Jewish Thought and Philosophy including Living Inspired and Worldmask. His work has been translated into Spanish, French and Portuguese.

 Zahava Farbman, LMSW

Zahava Farbman, LMSW

Zahava Farbman, LMSW, is a veteran traumatologist, having worked in this field for close to two decades.

Formerly she held the position as a director of Camp Simcha, Chai Lifelines overnight camp for children with cancer and other medical challenges.

Zahavas current position, which she has held for much of her career, is the Associate Director of Project Chai, the Crisis Intervention, Trauma and Bereavement Department  of Chai Lifeline, where she focuses on helping families and communities prepare for and respond to the full range of crises, traumas and tragedies.

Zahava has authored and presented papers across the nation in her areas of expertise. She is widely recognized as the "go to" professional in responding to crisis in the Jewish community.

In addition Zahava is the responder for mental health emergencies for Hatzolah of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway in NY. She is also the crisis and bereavement consultant for Achiezer Community Resource Center and ATIME.

Zahava lives in Woodmere NY with her husband and children.

Rabbi Mordechai Suchard

Rabbi Mordechai Suchard

Rabbi Suchard is the Founder and Director of Gateways and the son of a Rav and Dayan on the prestigious Johannesburg Beis Din. He studied in Telshe, Cleveland and Ponevizh, Israel. He received Smichah from the Chief Rabbi and Av Beth Din of Jerusalem, Rabbi Kulitz l. For the past sixteen years, he has devoted his time to building Gateways into a premier education powerhouse that engages collegiates, young adults, families, singles and Russian immigrants in the United States and abroad to nurture and sustain Jewish identity, strengthen their connection to Israel and make informed decisions about their Jewish future.

Rabbi Mordechai Becher

Rabbi Mordechai Becher

Rabbi Becher is a Senior Lecturer for Gateways and is originally from Australia. He lectured at Ohr Somayach College in Jerusalem for 15 years, served in the Israel Defense Forces and taught in training programs for rabbis and educators. Rabbi Becher received his rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He has co-authored two books on contemporary issues in Jewish law and has responded to thousands of legal, ethical and philosophical questions on the “Ask the Rabbi.org” website. His latest book, “Gateway to Judaism”, published by Artscroll-Mesorah Press, is now in its fifth printing.

Mrs. Debbie Greenblatt

Mrs. Debbie Greenblatt

Mrs. Greenblatt majored in Judaic Studies and Comparative Literature at Queens College. She also has a Teaching Degree from the Teacher’s Institute for Women at Yeshiva University and has been teaching for over twenty years. For the past twelve years, she has been devoted to teaching adult women of varied backgrounds. Mrs. Greenblatt lectures extensively across North America and lives with her husband and nine children in Lawrence, New York.

Rabbi Dovid Greenblatt

Rabbi Dovid Greenblatt

Rabbi Greenblatt comes from a heritage of illustrious Rabbis. He is an exciting teacher who has taught for many organizations. Besides being an active teacher for over thirty years, he has founded and administrates several large Charitiy Funds and Organizations. Professionally, he is an accomplished INternet Executive who is an expert in Voice over the Internet and author of "Call Hear 'Round the World." R' Dovid is a founding member of the Gateways Organization. He lives in Lawrence, NY and is the proud father of nine children and a "staff" of grandchildren!

Rabbi Jonathan Rietti

Rabbi Jonathan Rietti

Rabbi Rietti is a Senior Lecturer for Gateways and is a descendant of the Sephardic leader the Ben Ish Chai and son of the famous British actor Robert Rietti. He received Smichah from Gateshead Yeshiva, after which he helped establish the now flourishing Kollel in Gibraltar. With a master's in education, he has practiced for 24 years as an educational consultant to parents of gifted children and those with ADD. He currently works in Brooklyn under Machon Daas Esvuna where he has partnered with Rabbi Meir Pogrow to train teachers using hands on chinuch methods steeped in Chazal based principles. Rabbi Rietti has authored over twenty nine lecture albums on topics including inner growth, health, parenting and Jewish identity.

Rabbi Yonason Shippel

Rabbi Yonason Shippel

Rabbi Shippel is a Senior Lecturer for Gateways. A native of South Africa, Rabbi Shippel is a graduate of Columbia University, NY and Ner Israel Rabbinical College, Baltimore. Rabbi Shippel holds a Masters degree in Judaic Studies. After receiving his Rabbinical Ordination in Jerusalem, he founded a vibrant congregation, learning center and day school in Cape Town, South Africa. Rabbi Shippel has spoken in communities and on campuses throughout the world, where he shares his unique life experiences and practical advice for successfully integrating Ancient Traditions with 21st Century living.
